Born and raised in a working-class neighborhood in Los Angeles, Sol is the proud eldest daughter of Mexican immigrants. Her experience as a first-generation Latina and first-generation attorney informs every aspect of her work, fueling her commitment to justice and equality in the workplace. Growing up, she witnessed members of her community exploited for their labor—often without the language, resources, or support to fight back. That reality continues to drive her decision to exclusively represent employees.
As one of the approximately 2% of Latina attorneys in the state of California, and among an even smaller number to reach partnership/ownership—she is aware of the systemic injustices that impact workers, particularly women and people of color. While she represents employees across a wide range of employment matters(including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations), her practice has a particular focus on cases involving pregnancy discrimination, race discrimination and sexual harassment.
Sol is known for her no-nonsense, direct approach, especially when dealing with opposing counsel. With her clients, she leads with compassion and is able to pair strategic strength with genuine care. Her fluency in Spanish allows her to serve and connect with a broader range of California’s diverse workforce.
Beyond her practice, Sol is committed to social work and advocacy for diversity in the legal profession. She regularly provides pro bono legal services to asylum seekers, mentors Latina law students and clerks, and volunteers with grassroots organizations working to stop deportations and respond to ICE raids. For her, the practice of law is not just a career, but a lifelong commitment to use her hard-earnedprivilege to promote systemic change. And while her work is serious, she’s not above saying she likes to do it all in a really great pair of shoes.
